2023 Beach Passes

Passes will be available for purchase beginning Thursday June 15, 2023 9am - 12 noon

To Our Realtor and Rental Community 

The Town of Aquinnah, in an effort to fairly and equitably include all valid properties in the Short-Term Rental Tax program are enacting the following regulations regarding beach passes.

1. All Short-Term rentals will be required to be registered according to the Commonwealth’s Department of Revenue (DOR) guidelines defining Short-Term Rentals.

2. As in the past, renters are required to provide a lease showing their arrival and departure dates.

3. No beach passes will be issued without proof of lease including the Short-Term Rental registration number.

4. The Town keeps a current list of registered Short-Term Rentals Listings for the purpose of giving out beach passes.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The Cliff Lot will be open and begin charging to park starting Thursday, June 15h, 2023 and access to Philbin Beach requires either a parking permit or a walk-on pass .

Parking is on a first come/first served basis. Cars with a Philbin permit or a walk-on pass are allowed to drop off people or beach gear either in the lot or at the top of the driveway. If the Lot is full, permit holders may go the Municipal Lot, show their permit and park free of charge. Anyone walking in from the road must show the attendant a pass.

PURCHASING A PHILBIN/RESIDENT PERMIT:

Homeowners or residents of Aquinnah may purchase a seasonal parking permit and/or walk-on pass. Limitations apply and are listed on the application. If you rent on a short-term basis, you or your tenants may purchase a parking permit or walk-on pass for the length of the stay. Proof of a rental agreement with confirmation dates is required. See application for details.

This year, renters are also REQUIRED to show the short-term rental registration number on their lease.

Residents or renters who don’t need a parking permit may purchase a walk-on pass. Walk-on passes do not limit the number of people who may access the beach with that pass at any one time. See application for details.

Resident Parking Permits:

ONE Resident Parking Permit can be issued to ONE household and will allow holders of the permit to park in restricted spaces identified at Lobsterville Beach, West Basin, Red Beach, Herring Creek and around the circle at the Cliffs. One additional pass is available for $100.00 for an accessory building (guest house, garage apartment) or unless a Lessee can provide an executed year-round lease.

Applications are available on the Town website and can be downloaded and completed before you come. Applications cannot be mailed in and only Credit Card payment will be accepted.
