Proposed Addition to the Aquinnah Zoning By-Law
Carlos Montoya would like to share the following information with town residents:
"Following is a draft of an Aquinnah wind energy bylaw, released today as a basis for general public discussion, two public forums on the subject and a Planning Board hearing.
The public forums, to be hosted by the Planning Board, are scheduled for next Monday, Aug. 10 @ 5:30 p.m. at the Town Hall building, and for Tuesday, Aug. 18 @ 5:30 at the Town Hall building. Planning Board hearings have not been scheduled yet but are expected to occur in Sept.
This draft bylaw takes into consideration expressions of concern, and proposal for improvement, made at earlier Town Meeting discussions on the subject. In addition, the bylaw has been simplified, by consolidating technical and other detail in three Appendices, at the end.
The Board looks forward to, and encourages, everyone, who can, to attend the two scheduled forums to learn about and comment on this wind energy bylaw draft.
Carlos Montoya
Member, Planning Board"

Special Town Meeting on Wed., June 3rd
Warrant for the Special Town Meeting
It is very important that we get a quorum for Wednesday's Special Town Meeting so that we may attend to FY2009 financial matters. The Special Town Meeting warrant (see attached) addresses these matters.
As at the end of every fiscal year, money must be moved around in order to pay bills and close out business for the year.
Please make every effort to attend so that we can close FY09 and begin FY10 with our books in order. Your attendance would be greatly appreciated by all of us, employees, board and committee volunteer members, and those who generally attend and want to get business done rather than go home and have to come back another day.
This business has to be attended to, so please let's do it on Wednesday so we don't have to schedule another meeting to accomplish what must be accomplished.
Board of Selectmen's Meeting Continued
Board Chairman Spencer Booker has continued this evening's Board of Selectmen's Meeting until Thursday, June 4, 2009, 8 AM in order to allow Building Inspector Jerry Wiener and Project Engineer Kent Healey time to determine the structural soundness of the existing Schoolhouse chimney and to present their findings to the Selectmen at such time, as it pertains to the BOS Meeting June 2, 2009, agenda item #2, "Schoolhouse Library Chimney ".
