Aquinnah Cultural District Committee

Meeting Notes

03/11/26

 

Attendance:  Jim Pickmand, Mitzi Pratt, Berta Welch, Committee Members; Jeff Madison, Town Staff; Gisele Gauthier, Consultant

 

Meeting notes from February 11, 2026, were approved.

 

Gisele updated the committee on the progress of the following projects:

 

ADA Compliant Stairs/Ramp project

  • This project is funded by Orsted, wind farm developer.
  • Orsted mailed the check on Feb 20 and Town Hall is looking for it.
  • Construction began on March 9 and is expected be complete on or before April 30.

 

Homestead Weatherization Project

  • This project is funded by Orsted, wind farm developer.
  • Funding has been received by the Town and is waiting to be spent.
  • This project will use some CPA Funds as well.
  • Installation of mini-splits has begun.
  • Insulation work will begin once that  is complete.
  • Hope to be complete by April 1

 

Homestead Painting/Electrical/Water Project

  • This project is funded through a Mass Cultural Council grant and the Aquinnah CPA.
  • The well/waterline project is complete.
  • The electrical work is nearly complete, with just a few loose ends to tie up once the painting is complete.
  • We are working with the painting contractor to schedule the work. Can’t start until the weatherization work is complete.

 

Other

  • Gisele also reminded the committee that she will be away on vacation, and unreachable, from Feb 24 – March 6.

 

 

Next meeting is scheduled for March 11, 2026.
