  1. CLC’s Main Street program.  Businesses in Aquinnah were invited to take advantage of the program.  CLC was in Aquinnah, Chilmark, and Oak Bluffs on May 4-6. 
  2. VSEC

 

  1. We have prepared a brief presentation (attached) on the Energy Transformation Roadmap formulated by MVC’s Energy Working Group.  It sets the stage for actions to achieve the island’s 100% renewable goal.  We should arrange to present it to Aquinnah’s select board and possibly other boards/committees.  Similar presentations will be made in the other island towns and to the MVC Climate Action Task Force, the CLC directors, and the CVEC directors.
  2. Town energy committees are to prepare 5-year plans for meeting the 100% renewable goal.  VSEC is preparing a template, though town plans will differ.

 

  1. Home rule petition.  A number of towns are filing with the state legislature home rule petitions, seeking the authority to require that new and substantially remodeled construction use electricity rather than fossil fuels for heating, cooling, and hot water [and possibly cooking].  Should we recommend that Aquinnah file such a petition?

 

  1. Green Communities.

 

  1. The town used $3000 of its designation grant to lease a hybrid police cruiser.
  2. The down payment is due (has been paid?) on the mini-splits to be installed at the Town Hall, Town Offices and Fire Station

 

  1. CERT

 

  1. CERT met on May 6; Noli will report. 

 

  1. Combined food forest/recreational area/affordable housing project.

 

  1. Report on clearing and design work for the playground.
