AQ Infrastructure Committee Meeting Minutes
Meeting of the Aquinnah Infrastructure Committee Thursday March 5, 2026 at 7:00pm at Town Offices
Members present: Eric Litt, Chair, Adrian Higgins, Gary Haley, Richard Wagner. Invited guest Emily Day, Town Accountant; Tom Murphy, Select Board Member
Eric provided an update on the state of the restrooms at the circle and their water supply. Island Water Source took samples from wells and will report on water quality, as well as offer recommendations regarding current state of the wells and connections to the restrooms. There appears to be a reasonable amount of confusion as to the state of the wells and routing of water lines to the restrooms.
Eric asked a question regarding what monies/projects will the Infrastructure Committee present to the May 12th Town Meeting. He suggested and asked for reactions to potential warrant items that would fund projects the committee deems critical:
- Grading the parking lots - $100K
- Fire house and town offices siding and trim replacement - $300K
- Rest rooms repair/renovation - $125K
- Total of $525K
- All were in agreement, though with the understanding that costs for grading and rest room repairs are estimates.
Suggestions from Adrian and Richard that a contingency figure be added to the total ask – say $75K or 10% of the ask for unexpected items/repairs.
Eric added a potential warrant item focusing on the $200K ‘loan’ from the Infrastructure Committee to the Lighthouse Committee, and whether those funds might be returned/added to the committee’s budget.
Gary accepted the task of talking to Jeffrey about ordering flushers and filters for the restrooms
